15/03/2008 at Sulaibiya Pivot Fields

It was only possible to make a quick round of the Pivot Fields today. Bird-wise it was fairly quiet, although there seems to have been an influx of Tawny Pipits  in the last few days. Highlight of the trip was a  female Montagu’s Harrier that had caught some prey and could be carefully approached.  

Squacco Heron 1, Little Egret 1, Common Moorhen 1, Pallid Harrier 1, Montagu’s Harrier 1, Imperial Eagle 2, Greater Spotted Eagle 2, Common Kestrel 1, Lesser Kestrel 2, Greater Short-toed Lark 30, Crested Lark 20, White Wagtail 30, Tawny Pipit 50, Eurasian Hoopoe 8, Common Stonechat 2, Northern Wheatear 3, Isabelline Wheatear 15, Pied Wheatear 4, Southern Grey Shrike 1.
