I visited today Al Abraq with Bassel. Inspite of thunderstorm in Kuwait city we headed toward this remote farm. It really paid off since rain stopped and Al Abraq was full of migrants. Especially warblers like Menetries’ and Eastern Orphean were numerous. Menetries Warblers we saw 12. Although 8 Eastern Orphean Warblers is not new record it is still very good. Naturally we had plenty of other Sylvia warblers like Whitethroats, Lesser Whitethroats and Blackcaps. First Rufous-tailed Scrub robins have arrived along with Rock Thrushes. Wryneck, 2 Hypocolius, 2 accidentally flushed Scops Owls and Spotted Crake provided more pleasure. We saw two Grasshopper Warblers and Savi’s Warbler but we couldn’t get pictures. There were many shrikes and wheatears too.
