Migration has begun gradually, with early arrivals including Pied and Eastern Black-eared, Northern Wheatears, Common Redstart, and Common Rock Thrush since the first of March. A Greater Spotted Cuckoo—rare in Kuwait—was also spotted just two days ago.

    Excellent photographs which bring back memories from the late 1990s – I do hope the metal sign outside Jahra reserve is no longer full of bullet holes, and that there is less of an assault on Nature during the migration season. Best wishes.

  2. Hi Jeremy, nice to hear back from you! Things have changed now! There’s a police car stationed there at all times, and scheduled patrols along the fence have been added for extra security.
