I visited today Jahra Pool Reserve with many foreign visitors including people from Spain, Finland and Germany. Management of the reserve has improved a lot in terms of controlling water levels. Therefore the wildlife has benefitted so much.
One of the highlights in the reserve is observing crakes. One can easily find and photograph Spotted, Little and Baillon’s crakes. As a bonus one can occassionally see Purple Swamp-hen and White-tailed Lapwing etc. One speciality is a big number of Red-necked Phalaropes up to 500 during spring migration. Today we also observed one Grag Martin.
