I visited Abdaly Farms because visiting Greek birders or I should say conservationists, Aris Vidalis and Stamatis Zogaris, wanted to see the place. I didn’t expect much but for my big surprise this unscheduled trip revealed that Afghan Babblers can breed at least twice in the year. This is completely new piece of information regarding their colonization of Kuwait. My picture is not great but it shows adult bird carrying food. We saw young birds begging food and their still yellow gapes so the second brood has taken place sometimes in first half of August. Obviously temperature doesn’t play a big role but the vegetation with small palms and especially with fresh water does. Second breeding has happened at very same spot than in Spring.
