Birding Sites in Kuwait
This is the page that includes all birdwatching sites in Kuwait. When visiting Kuwait, as a birdwatcher/birder, one needs to know where to go for birdwatching. I compiled this list of birding sites to help birdwatchers know where to go and what to expect there. There is a diversity of birdwatching sites that is interesting; from the plain desert, where you see lark, wetlands such as the famous Jahra Pools Reserve, and desert oases such as Abraq al Habari, the Jal al Zour ridges, and the coastal areas. Thus there is a diversity of birds in this small country. The Birdwatching Sites page also includes a state-of-the-art interactive map of all birding sites in Kuwait. See it here!
Kuwait Bird List
The Bird of Kuwait List is the official Kuwait Bird List, validated, endorsed, and approved by Kuwait Ornithological Rarities Committee (KORC). The Kuwait Bird Checklist is reviewed and updated after every KORC meeting. The status of each bird in the Kuwait bird list is stated under each species’ name and is what KORC has agreed upon based on our current knowledge. The Highest Daily Count (HDC) is stated under the status is taken from the past database and is now heavily dependent on data obtained from data entered in eBird.org or from records reported directly to me from trusted birders. See the list here.
The Kuwait Bird Photo Gallery
I have compiled a bird photo gallery of all the bird species recorded in Kuwait. The gallery includes some status text now, but I will be adding more text and distribution maps, both local and worldwide, as I finish them. I will be adding more photos shortly when I am not busy.
